Overview

As a Supervisor of Information Technology Planning and Reporting, you will lead a team of IT professionals responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining information technology strategies and reporting systems. You will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of IT initiatives that support Defence and national security objectives. This role involves translating complex technical requirements into actionable plans while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, government IT policies, and Treasury Board directives. Your day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and developing your team members, managing project timelines and budgets, preparing reports on IT performance and system health, and communicating with senior management and stakeholders about IT initiatives and risks. You will monitor IT infrastructure, systems, and services to ensure they meet operational needs and comply with government security standards. You will also participate in strategic planning sessions, contribute to capability development, and ensure your team follows best practices in IT governance and reporting. You will work in a dynamic environment where technology is constantly evolving and organizational needs are changing. As part of the Department of National Defence civilian workforce, you will support military operations and defence capabilities through effective IT management and planning. Your role bridges technical expertise and organizational strategy, requiring strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Government-Specific Training: Upon hiring, you will complete mandatory training on Treasury Board IT policies, DND-specific systems and procedures, government security protocols, and the Treasury Board Policy on Management of Information Technology.
