You may enter through several pathways: open competitions available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and eligible veterans; internal Government of Canada competitions for current federal public servants; or targeted recruitment programs such as the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) or the Post-Secondary Recruitment Campaign (PSRC) if you're a recent graduate. Some positions may be filled through internal DND competitions or by lateral transfer from other federal departments. Many positions are available on a full-time basis, though part-time and term-based opportunities may exist depending on operational needs and funding. Most DND offices support flexible work hours and alternative work arrangements, allowing you to adjust your schedule in consultation with your manager, subject to operational requirements. Remote work options have expanded across the Government of Canada, and depending on the specific DND location and duties, some Pension Assistant roles may offer the opportunity to work from home for a portion of your work week or on a fully remote basis. The extent of remote work availability depends on the position and your manager's approval. All arrangements must ensure you can effectively carry out pension administration duties and maintain appropriate security protocols for handling confidential employee information.
