• Advertised competitions: DND and other federal departments regularly post positions for Organization and Classification Policy Advisors at various levels (AS-01, AS-02, AS-03).
• Internal appointment pools: The Public Service Commission maintains indeterminate pools of qualified candidates that federal departments can draw from for staffing.

Part-Time Options
Part-time and flexible work arrangements are available for Organization and Classification Policy Advisor positions, though availability depends on operational needs and specific department requirements.
Many DND civilian positions support hybrid and remote work options, particularly for policy analysis and advisory work that does not require daily in-person collaboration. Remote work may be available for portions of your week, with core days in the office for meetings and stakeholder consultations.
Flexible schedules can often be negotiated with your manager, including compressed work weeks or adjusted daily hours, subject to operational requirements and collective agreement provisions for your employee group (typically the Professional Group under PSAC).
To confirm specific part-time or flexible arrangements for a particular position, discuss options with the hiring manager during the recruitment process and after appointment, as these arrangements are determined locally based on work demands and team structure.
