As an Organization and Classification Advisor, you provide expert guidance on organizational design, job classification, and human resources structure across Department of National Defence (DND) units and headquarters. You analyze organizational effectiveness, review job descriptions, and recommend classification levels that align with Treasury Board standards and DND priorities. Your work directly supports management decision-making and ensures fair, consistent treatment of employees across the department.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting organizational reviews, evaluating job duties and responsibilities to determine appropriate classification levels, developing organizational charts and structure recommendations, and consulting with managers and employees to understand operational needs. You also stay current with Treasury Board policies, classification standards, and best practices in organizational design. You may provide training and guidance to managers on classification processes and organizational planning.
You work in a professional office environment within Human Resources branches at various DND locations. You collaborate closely with managers, HR colleagues, and sometimes external consultants.
