Overview

As a Mechanical Service Labourer, you will support the maintenance and repair operations of mechanical systems and equipment across Department of National Defence facilities. Working under the supervision of skilled trades professionals, you will perform essential labour tasks that keep our military infrastructure operational and safe. Your work directly contributes to the readiness and effectiveness of Canada's defence operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs; preparing work areas and organizing tools and materials; cleaning and maintaining mechanical systems; operating hand tools and basic power equipment; and following safety protocols and procedures. You may work on heating systems, plumbing, machinery, or other mechanical installations depending on the facility's needs. You will work in various environments including workshops, mechanical rooms, and operational facilities. The role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. To qualify for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED).
