Material Handlers play a vital role in keeping Department of National Defence operations running smoothly. You will receive, store, organize, and distribute materials, equipment, and supplies across our facilities. Your work ensures that military personnel and civilian staff have access to the resources they need, when they need them. This is hands-on work that requires attention to detail, physical capability, and strong organizational skills. Material Handlers work in warehouses, storage facilities, and supply depots, managing inventory using specialized equipment and systems. You'll work as part of a team and report to supervisors who oversee supply chain operations. The role involves standing for extended periods, lifting and moving materials, and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions depending on the location and season.

Training
Most Material Handler positions require a high school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 or GED). Depending on your workplace, you may pursue certifications in forklift operation, hazardous materials handling, or workplace health and safety.
