Overview

As a Manager - Resource Management, you will lead financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation initiatives across Department of National Defence operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing resource management strategies that support operational priorities while ensuring effective stewardship of public funds. Your work directly impacts how defence resources are allocated to support Canada's military capabilities and defence commitments. In this role, you will oversee teams of financial analysts and resource management professionals, directing their work on budget development, cost analysis, and financial forecasting. You will prepare financial reports and recommendations for senior leadership, manage departmental budgets, and ensure compliance with Treasury Board policies and financial legislation. You will work collaboratively with operational commanders, finance teams, and other government departments to align resources with strategic objectives. You will work in a dynamic environment where financial decisions have significant operational consequences. The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership capability, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences. You may work in National Defence headquarters, regional offices, or field units, depending on your assignment.
