Overview

As a Manager - Real Property Portfolio, you will lead and oversee the strategic management of Defence and Climate Change Canada's real property assets. This role involves planning, directing, and controlling real property portfolio activities across multiple sites and locations, ensuring efficient use of government facilities while meeting operational requirements. You will be responsible for developing property strategies, managing budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with government real property policies and standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities include supervising real property management teams, monitoring portfolio performance, overseeing lease negotiations and property transactions, and ensuring proper maintenance and utilization of facilities. You will analyze real property data, prepare reports for senior management, and develop recommendations to optimize the portfolio's performance and reduce costs. This role requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities across a complex portfolio of properties. You will work in a dynamic government environment where your decisions directly impact military operations and departmental efficiency. This position typically involves collaboration with various government departments, external contractors, and facility users. You may be required to travel to different sites for inspections and stakeholder meetings, and you will spend a significant portion of your time in an office setting preparing analyses and reports.
