Overview

As a Manager of Real Property Agreements within National Defence, you will oversee the management, negotiation, and administration of real property contracts and agreements that support military operations and DND facilities across Canada and internationally. You will lead a team responsible for ensuring that all property-related agreements comply with Treasury Board policies, federal regulations, and DND requirements while delivering value for money and supporting operational needs. Your responsibilities will include developing real property strategies, managing lease and purchase agreements, negotiating terms with external parties, monitoring contract performance, and ensuring adherence to financial and legal obligations. You will work with multiple stakeholders including senior leadership, other government departments, private sector partners, and service providers to maintain DND's real property portfolio effectively. You will work in a dynamic federal government environment where attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex negotiations are essential. Your role is critical to ensuring that DND has appropriate facilities and property arrangements to support its defence and security mandate.

Training

Once hired, you will have access to professional development through the Canadian Armed Forces and DND, including courses in federal real property policy, advanced negotiation skills, project management, and leadership development. Continuing education in real estate law and government contracting practices is encouraged and supported.
