The Government of Canada also maintains talent pools and staffing lists for facility management positions, which can expedite the hiring process for qualified candidates. Some candidates enter through the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) or the Post-Secondary Recruitment Initiative (PSRI) as students, building experience before transitioning to permanent roles. Bridging programs may be available for individuals with relevant private sector facility management experience seeking to transition to the federal public service. Part-Time Options
Part-time and flexible work arrangements may be available for Manager - Facility Management positions, though availability depends on operational requirements and the specific facility or region. Some facilities management functions require on-site presence during standard business hours, while administrative and planning duties may offer greater flexibility.
Remote work options are typically limited due to the hands-on nature of facility management oversight and the need to conduct site inspections and coordinate in-person with maintenance teams and stakeholders. However, aspects of the role such as administrative tasks, budget planning, and virtual meetings can be performed remotely.
