Overview

As an Information Technology (IT) Project Officer, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering information technology projects across the Department of National Defence. You will work with project teams, stakeholders, and senior management to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your responsibilities will include developing project plans, tracking progress, managing resources, identifying and mitigating risks, and communicating project status to leadership. Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating with IT specialists, business analysts, and other professionals to implement technology solutions that support DND operations. You may manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate across different departments and locations, and adapt to changing priorities and requirements. You will use project management tools and methodologies to monitor timelines, budgets, and deliverables, while ensuring compliance with Treasury Board policies and DND standards. You will work in a dynamic environment where technology is constantly evolving and supporting critical national defence operations. Your contributions directly impact the effectiveness and efficiency of DND's information systems and services. Training

To succeed in this role, you should have a postsecondary diploma or degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field. Certifications that enhance your candidacy include the Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Scrum Master, or other recognized project management credentials.
