As a Horticultural Technician with the Department of National Defence, you will maintain and develop green spaces across military installations and facilities. You will apply your knowledge of plants, soil conditions, and landscaping practices to create and sustain healthy outdoor environments that support operational readiness and quality of life for personnel and their families.
Your responsibilities will include planting and propagating trees, shrubs, and flowers; maintaining turf and garden areas; operating landscaping equipment; and applying pest and disease management techniques. You will work both independently and as part of a team, managing seasonal tasks such as pruning, mulching, and winter preparation. You may also assist in designing landscaping projects and coordinating with contractors.
You will work in outdoor environments across all seasons and weather conditions. Training
