As an Engine Room Crew Member - Ship, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining marine propulsion systems and related equipment aboard Canadian naval vessels. You will work as part of an engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of ship engines, boilers, and mechanical systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring engine performance, conducting routine maintenance, responding to equipment failures, and documenting all operational activities. You will play a critical role in supporting maritime operations and ensuring the vessel remains operational and ready for deployment.
This position requires strong technical aptitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. You will be based aboard ships and may be required to deploy for extended periods. The role demands attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of marine engineering and occupational health and safety. You will work shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, as vessel operations continue around the clock.

Training
To qualify for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. On-the-job training is provided to develop practical skills in marine diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and shipboard equipment maintenance.
