Part-Time Options

Part-time and flexible work arrangements may be available depending on operational requirements and team needs. The nature of a director-level position typically requires a full-time commitment to effectively manage team operations, budget responsibilities, and strategic initiatives. However, many DND offices support flexible work arrangements such as flexible hours or compressed work weeks for eligible employees. Remote work options have become more common in the federal public service, and depending on the specific location and duties, some work-from-home flexibility may be negotiated. We recommend discussing specific work arrangement possibilities with the hiring manager during the recruitment process, as eligibility and availability vary by location and operational needs. The department is committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining service delivery to the Canadian Armed Forces and DND personnel.
