Lateral moves from other federal departments or within DND are also possible if you have equivalent experience in corporate planning, business analysis, or related administrative roles. Some positions may be filled through internal appointment processes if you are already employed in the Public Service. Part-Time Options

Part-time and flexible work arrangements are available for Business Planner positions, though availability may vary depending on the specific role and operational requirements. Many Business Planner positions offer flexible scheduling to accommodate work-life balance, and compressed work weeks are sometimes negotiated with managers. Remote work options have expanded within the federal government, particularly for analysis and planning work that does not require daily in-person collaboration. However, some planning activities, stakeholder meetings, and strategic sessions may require in-person attendance. Specific remote and flexible arrangements are determined during the hiring process and negotiated with your manager based on operational needs and role requirements. DND is committed to supporting flexible work where possible to maintain employee engagement and productivity.
