Overview

As an Assistant in Diversity, Inclusion and Employment Equity at Department of National Defence, you will support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and initiatives that promote a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. You will work within the Human Resources Management function, helping to ensure that DND creates an environment where all employees can thrive and contribute their best work. This role involves collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to advance diversity initiatives, analyze employment equity data, and support the delivery of inclusion programs across the organization. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the planning and coordination of diversity and inclusion events, preparing reports and analysis on employment equity metrics, conducting research on best practices in diversity management, and providing administrative support to senior diversity and inclusion specialists. You may also help develop educational materials, coordinate training sessions, and assist with consultation processes involving employee groups and external partners. Your work will directly contribute to building a more representative and inclusive Defence workforce. You will work in a collaborative office environment, primarily at National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa or at other DND locations across Canada. You will interact regularly with Human Resources professionals, program managers, and employees at all levels. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the federal public service.
